Today's #2: Joe Satriani - Always With Me, Always With You

I remembered this tune on my way out of the house and I came back to look for it...and found the video with Joe "Perfection" Satriani -- as someone called the guy.

Have to mark it down, as i think it will turn into a wedding gift for my school desk mate.

Today's: Katie Melua - Just Like Heaven

I love the scratches that instruments bear on their skins...They show someone loved them a bit rough, but they were touched in their lives...and a long life that can be! Follow the marks on the cello :)

@Twitter, I love you!

...and really I do...and if I could write a song, I'd dedicate it to you.

Today I experienced the proof that social networking is not simply a past-time meant to drive some IT admins up the wall (although they rarely care what you do, as long as their boss doesn't complain).

A while ago, as I was sitting in a half-furnished office in India, talking to two of the most professional people I know, I had an idea that i promised I would turn into reality.
The idea was fun and catchy...and most importantly...innovative.

So there I am, going back with my little treasure bud in the head, asking around who can help, getting everyone and everything together, brushing off the asperities and creating the final proof of concept.

Days later, a guy connects with me in LinkedIn, I realize he was a person I should have met, back in India, and he follows me on Twitter.

His profile is intriguing, so I browse around a little bit and I find out he likes music, as much as I do (and I am fanatic!!)...and he can also play the music he likes..

So I get his music and sign my presentation in an original manner :)...oh yeah, I used it as a background for the pitch.

Bottom line: there is no pitch like a personal pitch, and there is no better reference for detail than a social network that a person uses regularly.

So, at the end of this day, dear @Twitter, I love you....

This is my "today's" , with beautiful inflections of Alexandrina's voice...

-Fluturili, raspunse usurat moldoveanul."

Cycling the city at #Bikewalk 4

Hey...it is a painful experience...it was a long wait and a nerve-breaking agreement issuing process.

It was the best crew to cruise around with: the guys of Bikewalk #4, roaming the city, having it asking questions, smiling and admiring.

I'm sure next time we won't be ~ 100, but so many more :)

Today's: Sting's Seven Days

I absolutely love the story it depicts, I can almost visualize Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew" along with it...

Challenge? Try a seven days ultimatum when you love someone :))

Love Story meets Viva la Vida

What can be nicer than browsing around blogs and finding cool stuff? It is just like browsing through pages, or even shops (for the more down-to-earth-woman-of-the-day) and seeing the perfect ... thing.
Here is something I found on Cricket's blog, who seems to have found it on Pandutzu's blog...

Chocolat -- a matter of "taste over matter"

Been to Chocolat recently (the one on Victoriei), perfectly inserted in the scenery of the "cool spot" Bucharest.
I have a number of places where I enjoy moments with friends and I come back for more, every time for a better experience with "les createurs de gout".
I like the Lipscani area, although most of the business owners over there have no idea what "repeated business" can mean to them, especially when it doesn't...repeat...

After a 30-minutes-delayed salad, served as if customers represented some sort of turbulence that needed to be overcome with a grin, I was craving for something sweet and ...special.
I had in mind, yes, Chocolat, with a shade of nostalgia for a place in Paris where I tasted the best chocolate ever...

Chocolat in Bucharest is all about taste. From the very moment you step in and the waitress looks like a porcelain doll, to the exquisite offer of goodies, to the atmosphere, the smell of tea and the availability of the beer made by Belgium monks...

Yesterday I have witnessed a moment that had never happened under my eyes in Chocolat, but it was a confirmation experience, actually, and this is what drove me to write this post. The porcelain-waitress dropped a glass of beer on the new pair of jeans of a gentleman at the table next to mine.
The guy immediately reacted, protesting in an angry tone, but not aggressively towards the girl...I noticed her move away with an embarrassed look and then returning with another glass of beer, a cake and a whispered apology.

In a matter of few minutes, every trace of the "nano-disaster" had disappeared, the guy was laughing with his friends about it, the girl was smiling and serving French customers and I have felt as if I were somewhere safe, close to Land of Tolerance and Common Sense.

It feels good to see that Bucharest has this type of places, this type of staff, this type of customers...I will not think of emigrating every two days now...maybe I will think of it, every four days, though...

Romania - seen through the lens

There is an image i have found on Cezar's Blog, that took me back in time to my childhood. I had forgotten such a scenery was actually commonplace to me, a lifetime ago.

It is of amazing beauty...this great image that Ionut Tarcea shot, somewhere in Romania.
